May 27 - 31: Ages 7 - 10
June 3 - 7: Ages 11+
Campers will receive a variety of tips, tricks, and fundamentals for illustrating stories. Students will learn how to use storyboards and story maps to create flowing and compelling graphics and comics.
The campers will be working on activities such as: animation station where they learn to draw characters and comics, creating thumbnail sketch storyboards, exploring different mediums to draw, including; markers, watercolors, colored pencils, stamps, India ink, brush and pen.
Each day the campers will work on their storyboards and by the end of the week, a comic book or storybook will be created. There will be examples of comic books and picture books to inspire.
This camp cannot accommodate drop-in students.

CREATE A CHARACTER: HAND PUPPETS
Instructor: Ann Lochstampfor
Ages: 8-12

Introduction to:

Puppet Production
Campers will design and construct 3 unique puppets:
glove puppet
rod puppet (in muppets styles)
stick and sign puppet.
During the program, campers delve into the art of puppetry by mastering movements and lip-sync techniques. In addition to creating the puppet characters, the children also get the opportunity to design and paint stage scenery. The culmination of their hard work is showcased in a group performance held for parents and friends on Friday.
Campers are encouraged to bring a lunch and a water bottle.

CLAY & COLLAGE: POTTERY
Instructor: Debbie Craig
Ages: 8 and up (through middle school)
In the first two days, campers will work with slabs of clay to create houses/homes or structures. We will talk about and make symbols to hang from the structures. While their clay work fires in the kiln, campers will make artist trading cards and learn how to paint tissue paper that will be used to decorate their structures. This camp emphasizes process, beginning the project on Monday and seeing it to completion on Friday. Each camper will leave with a personal piece of clay art they can hang on the wall.
Because of the nature of the class, it cannot accommodate drop-in students.
Students are encouraged to bring a lunch and a water bottle.

WRAP IT UP: JEWELRY
Instructor: Lisa Kent
Ages: 12-16
Learn the basics of jewelry making using wire, sheet metal, and beads in this engaging summer camp.
Techniques for cutting, forming, and decorating metal will be introduced, along with wire wrapping and hammering. Campers will unleash their creativity as they craft unique pieces of jewelry for themselves or for gifts.
Students are encouraged to bring a lunch and a water bottle.
$20 supply fee due to instructor at beginning of camp.

STITCHING SCHOOL: SEWING & WEAVING

Ages: 7+
Join us for an exciting week of creativity and skill-building at our upcoming summer camp! Campers will delve into the world of basic hand stitching and weaving methods, where they will learn the fundamentals of these timeless crafts.
Throughout the week, campers will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and create a new item each day using the techniques they have learned. From simple stitches to intricate weaves, they will explore a range of projects that will challenge and inspire them.
Our experienced instructor will guide campers through each step of the process, providing hands-on demonstrations and personalized assistance to ensure that every camper gains a solid understanding of the techniques being taught.
